How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Students on Devices
- Students complete the Word Table activity on their own laptop or tablet.
- A vocabulary reference table with pronunciation. Students can click to hear words spoken.
- Walk around the room to monitor progress and assist students who need help.
Option 2: Teacher-Led (Whiteboard/Projector)
- Display the activity on your interactive whiteboard or projector.
- Go through the table together, practising pronunciation as a class. Have students repeat after the audio.
- Invite students up to interact with the board, or have them call out answers from their desks.
3 - Spot and Select
Now that you've heard how the Spanish colour words sound, it's time to put your recognition skills to the test. In this activity, you'll examine images and choose the correct Spanish label for each one from multiple-choice options.
With eight items to tackle, this is a great chance to see how well you're connecting the words to their meanings. Select carefully and build your confidence in identifying colours en español!

The flag of Spain features three horizontal stripes: red (rojo), yellow (amarillo), and red (rojo) again! This bold design uses two of the colours you've learned, making it a great way to spot and practise your new Spanish vocabulary whenever you see it.
5 - Bingo Challenge Time
Now that you've practised spotting and labelling colours in pictures and discovered a fun fact about them, it's time to put your Spanish vocabulary to the test in a lively way. Get ready for an interactive bingo game where you'll listen to the teacher calling out the colour words and mark them on your card if they match.
This activity will help you recognise and respond to the Spanish colours—rojo, azul, verde, amarillo, naranja, violeta, negro, and blanco—while having some fun. Grab your bingo card and let's see who gets a line first!
How to Play Bingo:
Option 1: Students on Devices (Digital Version)
- Use the digital version where your teacher view of the lesson displays the cards that are being called out.
- Play the pronunciation sound of each word and the children mark it off their unique digital bingo card.
- Each student has a randomised bingo card so winners will vary!
Option 2: Print Out the Bingo Cards
- Print out the Bingo Cards from the attachment above, cut out the cards, and give one to each student.
- You call out the vocabulary words and students mark off their sheets.
- First student to complete a line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) calls "Bingo!" and wins.
