Project Presentation and Evaluation

Start by introducing your program. Next, prepare a 3-5 minute presentation, practising with your program and writing a script covering what it does, coding techniques used, and a challenge overcome. Present your program, demonstrating its features and explaining your methods. After presenting, gather feedback and reflect on your project's successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Finally, celebrate your achievement and consider sharing your work online.

    1 - Introduction

Presenting your program is an important step! In this lesson, you’ll prepare and deliver a demo of your work, explain how you created it, and reflect on your learning. You’ll also receive feedback from others and celebrate your success.

    2 - Preparing Your Presentation

Plan a short presentation, approximately 3-5 minutes long. Open your program and practice demonstrating its features (e.g., “Click this to start the game”). Write a brief script or notes covering the following points:

    • What your program does
    • One or two coding techniques you used (e.g., loops, events)
    • A challenge you overcame (refer to your notes)

If you’re in a group, decide who will cover each part. Keep your presentation simple and clear—no need for elaborate slides, just your program and your explanation.

    3 - Presenting Your Program

Present your program to your audience, whether it’s your class, a small group, or even a recording for yourself. Follow these steps:

    1. Introduce your program (e.g., “This is my maze game”)
    2. Demonstrate the program, highlighting key features
    3. Explain the coding techniques you used
    4. Discuss a challenge you faced and how you resolved it

Speak clearly and at a steady pace. If your audience asks questions, answer them based on your preparation and notes.

4 - Receiving Feedback and Reflecting

After your presentation, gather feedback from your audience. Ask them what they liked and what could be improved. Record their comments. Then, take some time to reflect on your project by considering the following questions:

    • What aspects of your project went well?
    • What challenges did you encounter?
    • What have you learned from this experience?

Write down your thoughts; this reflection is for your personal growth and learning.

5 - Wrap Up: Celebrating Your Achievement

Congratulations! You have completed the planning, development, and presentation of your first program. Take pride in your efforts and the skills you have developed, such as problem-solving and creativity.

Consider sharing your program online or with others to showcase your achievement. Remember, every coder begins with a first step, and you have taken yours—excellent work!
