1 - Intro to Pattern Recognition

Pattern recognition is a way to find and notice regularities or 'patterns' in things around us. It's used in many different subjects, including math and computer science.

Now, let's start with some pattern recognition exercises!

    2 - Number Pattern

Look at the following sequence of numbers: 2, 4, 6, 8. Can you see the pattern?

Try to write down the next 4 numbers in this sequence.

    see the answer

    2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16

    3 - Letter Pattern

Now let's try a letter pattern. Look at this sequence: A, C, E, G. Can you see the pattern?

Try to write down the next 4 letters in this sequence.

    see the answer

    A, C, E, G, I, K, M, O

    4 - Mixed Pattern

Ready for a challenge? Try this pattern: 1A, 2B, 3C, 4D. Can you see the pattern? Write down the next 4 items in the sequence.

    see the answer

    1A, 2B, 3C, 4D, 5E, 6F, 7G, 8H

5 - Create Your Own Pattern

Now it's your turn to create a pattern. It can be with numbers, letters, or a mix of both. Write it down and then share it with a friend to solve!
