1 - Welcome Back to Numbers
Numbers are everywhere in hobbies and school - counting goals in sports, pages in music books, or classmates in group games! Today we're mastering Spanish numbers 1-10 again and applying them to real school situations like borrowing pencils or counting instruments.
Imagine you're at a Spanish school counting how many footballs your team needs or how many books are on the shelf. Numbers help you communicate about everything you love to do!
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Count confidently from 1 to 10 in Spanish
- Use numbers when talking about school and hobbies
- Spot number patterns that help you remember them
2 - Numbers Review
Let's refresh our memory of Spanish numbers 1-10. These are essential for counting anything in hobbies - goals scored, pages turned, or friends in your group. Notice how some numbers sound similar to English - can you spot the patterns?
Click each number to hear the pronunciation, then count along with your fingers. Think about how you'd use these at school: 'Tengo dos lápices' (I have two pencils) or 'Hay siete alumnos' (There are seven students).
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Digital Reference (Interactive)
- Display the Word Table on the whiteboard or let students access on their devices.
- Click/tap words to hear pronunciation - great for listening and speaking practice.
- Go through each word together, practising pronunciation as a class.

3 - Spin the Number Wheel
Time for some wheel-spinning excitement! Spin to land on a number, then practise saying it clearly before the answer appears. Think about how many footballs, books, or classmates that number represents!
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Students on Devices
- Students complete the Spin the Wheel activity on their own laptop or tablet.
- Students spin the wheel and practise saying the vocabulary word that lands. Great for random selection and speaking practice.
- Walk around the room to monitor progress and assist students who need help.
Option 2: Teacher-Led (Whiteboard/Projector)
- Display the activity on your interactive whiteboard or projector.
- Spin the wheel on the whiteboard and have students call out the word together. Use it to pick random students or vocabulary items.
- Invite students up to interact with the board, or have them call out answers from their desks.
4 - Match the Numbers
Test your memory! Flip cards to match each Spanish number with its English translation. Can you find all the pairs before time runs out?
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Students on Devices
- Students complete the Matching Pairs activity on their own laptop or tablet.
- Students match words to their translations. Encourage them to say the words aloud as they match.
- Walk around the room to monitor progress and assist students who need help.
Option 2: Teacher-Led (Whiteboard/Projector)
- Display the activity on your interactive whiteboard or projector.
- Make it competitive - time students or split class into teams. Have students justify their matches.
- Invite students up to interact with the board, or have them call out answers from their desks.
5 - Flashcard Challenge
See the English number and race to say the Spanish before flipping! Use these numbers in sentences: 'Tengo cinco libros' or 'Hay ocho jugadores.' How quickly can you remember them all?
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Students on Devices
- Students complete the Flashcards activity on their own laptop or tablet.
- Great for self-paced vocabulary drilling. Students can flip cards and repeat until confident.
- Walk around the room to monitor progress and assist students who need help.
Option 2: Teacher-Led (Whiteboard/Projector)
- Display the activity on your interactive whiteboard or projector.
- Click to flip cards and have the class say the word together. Use choral repetition for pronunciation practice.
- Invite students up to interact with the board, or have them call out answers from their desks.
