Learn essential Spanish family vocabulary, including parents, siblings, and grandparents.     1 - Welcome to Family Time

    Have you ever wanted to introduce your family in Spanish? Today we're learning how to talk about la familia - your parents, siblings, and grandparents!

    In Spain, family is really important. People love talking about their 'madre' and 'padre' just like we do in Ireland.

    By the end of this lesson, you will:

    • Name 7 family members in Spanish
    • Know which family words are masculine ('el') and feminine ('la')
    • Introduce your own family in Spanish

    2 - Family Vocabulary

    Word TableHere are the Spanish words for your family members. Click each one to hear the pronunciation, then repeat after the audio. Notice how some words start with el (masculine) and others with la (feminine) - this is an important Spanish rule!

    3 - Label the Family Photo

    Label the ImageLook at this Spanish family photo! Click the correct Spanish name for each family member. There are four choices for each picture - choose carefully and listen to the audio if needed!

    4 - Sort by Gender

    Gender SortingTime to practise Spanish grammar! Drag each family word into the correct column: el (masculine, blue) or la (feminine, pink). Listen to the audio if you're not sure!

    5 - Family Matching Sheet
