    1 - Welcome to the Café

    Imagine you're sitting at a French café watching people enjoy their drinks. What do you think they're ordering? Today you'll learn all the drinks on a French café menu so you can order confidently next time you're in France!

    French cafés are famous worldwide - from Paris to small village squares. People linger over coffee or 'le chocolat chaud' (hot chocolate) while chatting with friends.

    By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

    • Order 8 popular French drinks
    • Listen to café conversations and understand drink orders
    • Spot which French drink words sound similar to English

    2 - Drinks Menu

    Word TableHere's today's café menu with all 8 drinks in French. Click each drink to hear how a French waiter would say it! Notice how some words like 'le café' and 'le jus' sound very similar to English.

    Most drinks are masculine ('le'), but watch for 'la limonade' which is feminine. Try saying each one after you hear it - French pronunciation gets easier with practice!
