1 - Welcome to the Fruit Market
Imagine you're at a bustling French market with colourful fruit stalls everywhere! Today you'll learn how to name 8 delicious fruits in French and chat about your favourites - perfect for ordering at a café or market.
By the end of this lesson, you will:
- Name 8 French fruits with correct pronunciation
- Know which fruits are 'le' (masculine) and which are 'la' (feminine)
- Practice fruit conversations like at a real market
2 - Meet the Fruits
Here are today's 8 delicious French fruits. Click each word to hear the pronunciation, then say it yourself! Notice how most use 'la' (feminine) but some use 'le' (masculine).
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Digital Reference (Interactive)
- Display the Word Table on the whiteboard or let students access on their devices.
- Click/tap words to hear pronunciation - great for listening and speaking practice.
- Go through each word together, practising pronunciation as a class.

3 - Fruit Sorting Challenge
Time to practise French grammar! Drag each fruit into the correct column: 'le' for masculine or 'la' for feminine. Listen to the audio if you need a pronunciation reminder.

4 - Match the Fruits
Great gender practice! Now flip the cards to match each English fruit name with its French translation. Work quickly to beat your previous time!
