Have you ever visited a farm and heard all the animal noises? Today we're heading to a German farm to meet 'die Tiere auf dem Bauernhof' - the farm animals!
German farms have the same animals as Irish farms, but with different names and sounds. You'll learn how to recognise them by sight and sound, just like a real farmer.
Here are the German names for 8 farm animals you'll find on any German farm. Click each word to hear how a German farmer would say it!
Notice that some words start with der (masculine) and some with die (feminine). Most farm animals are masculine in German, but watch out for 'die Kuh' (cow) and 'die Ziege' (goat) - they're feminine!
Say each word after you hear it. Imagine you're walking around the farm pointing at each animal.
