1 - Welcome Back
Great to see you again! Last time we learned how to say hello in Spanish. Today we're learning how to say goodbye politely - the perfect way to end any Spanish conversation.
Imagine you're leaving a Spanish café after eating a delicious churro, or finishing a football match with Spanish friends. Knowing the right goodbye makes you sound polite and friendly!
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Say 8 different Spanish goodbyes with confidence
- Choose the right goodbye for different times and situations
- Practice real goodbye conversations with a partner
2 - Today's Goodbye Phrases
Here are 8 useful Spanish goodbye phrases. Click each one to hear how it sounds, then repeat after the audio. Notice how some are casual (with friends) and others more formal (with adults).
Think about when you would use each one - before you go home at night? After school with friends? These phrases will help you sound like a real Spanish speaker!
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Digital Reference (Interactive)
- Display the Word Table on the whiteboard or let students access on their devices.
- Click/tap words to hear pronunciation - great for listening and speaking practice.
- Go through each word together, practising pronunciation as a class.
Option 2: Printed Reference Sheet

3 - Flashcard Challenge
See the English phrase first and try saying the Spanish goodbye before flipping the card. Can you remember them all? Say each one out loud to help it stick in your memory!
How to Use This Activity:
Option 1: Students on Devices
- Students complete the Flashcards activity on their own laptop or tablet.
- Great for self-paced vocabulary drilling. Students can flip cards and repeat until confident.
- Walk around the room to monitor progress and assist students who need help.
Option 2: Teacher-Led (Whiteboard/Projector)
- Display the activity on your interactive whiteboard or projector.
- Click to flip cards and have the class say the word together. Use choral repetition for pronunciation practice.
- Invite students up to interact with the board, or have them call out answers from their desks.
4 - Find the Goodbyes
