You are reflecting today across the whole of LCW: four strands, four Applied Learning Tasks, and the Digital Portfolio you have been building since Fifth Year. The SEC will issue a Portfolio in Action brief in Sixth Year; you will not invent evidence under time pressure. You will open a folder you already own. This lesson makes that folder ready: a Portfolio Map, a Course Synthesis scaffold, and a final check that ALT 4 is banked.

Pre-flight (30 seconds): open Strand 2.2 and scan. Tick what you can already see: ALT 1 final, ALT 2 final, ALT 3 final, ALT 4 final (or draft), personal statement, career plan, placement notes. Missing pieces are normal at this stage. Today you map what exists and flag gaps on the map rather than pretending the inventory is complete.

Three terms you will use for the rest of the period. Read the middle column carefully: it tells you what each one demands of the documents you already hold.

Two jobs this period, both for Strand 2.2. Work in this order.

Triage first: (1) If your ALT 4 Response Plan Final is not already banked in Strand 2.2, finish and save it before anything else. ALT 4 closes today. (2) Build your Portfolio Map. (3) Draft the Course Synthesis scaffold. Full prose can finish in your own time if the clock runs out.

First (about 8–10 minutes): sort the sample portfolio cards into the four descriptors of quality. Some cards sit honestly in more than one bucket; place each where you would defend it. Borderline is intentional, not a bug. Example: the collaborative five-minute presentation can be Participating (you took part in a shared group outcome) or Communicating (you shaped a live talk for an audience). Both defences work if they are specific. The class will argue one or two borderline cards before you copy the method into your own map.

Second (about 15–18 minutes): Portfolio Map — the primary in-class artefact. Create or open Strand2.2_Portfolio_Map (table or doc) with four columns:

• Artefact filename (the real name on disk)
• Source (ALT or strand)
• Primary descriptor (one of: Participating, Reflecting, Applying, Communicating)
• Why this descriptor (one short defence line)

List every major artefact you actually hold across the four strands (your ALT finals plus key supporting pieces: personal statement versions, career plan, collaborative reflection, placement notes, feedback, competency evidence, and so on). One primary descriptor per row. If a file is missing, mislabelled, or thin, still add a row and mark the gap so it is findable and honest.

Third (remaining minutes): Course Synthesis scaffold — save as Strand2.2_Course_Synthesis. In class, write three headed bullets (one per question), not a polished essay. Full page (roughly 300–450 words) is optional own-time finish.

1. Self now vs Lesson 1: what you know about yourself now that you did not know then, named from real evidence.
2. ALT that changed action: which ALT most changed how you act, not just how you write.
3. First two opens: which two portfolio pieces you would reach for first if the Portfolio in Action brief landed tomorrow.

Model snippet (question 1 grain): After ALT 3 placement I can name two situations where I ask for feedback instead of guessing. Strand 1 community work changed who I think a stakeholder is. That is different from Lesson 1, when I could only list job titles I liked.

Write from real evidence, not from a vague sense that you "grew".

Quiet finish (about 3–4 minutes): use this time to complete any open Portfolio Map row or synthesis bullet still on screen. Then talk the prompts through with the person beside you.

• From the rows you have mapped so far, if the Portfolio in Action brief arrived on Monday morning, which two artefacts would you open first, and which descriptor would each one carry?
• Looking at what is on your map now, where is the thin spot (a descriptor with almost nothing under it, or an ALT with missing supporting evidence)? Name the smallest fix you can still make this week: label a file, add one missing ALT line, or pick a primary descriptor for one thin bucket.

• Drafted your Course Synthesis (Strand2.2_Course_Synthesis) as three headed bullets or a fuller page, drawn from the four strands and four ALTs
• Confirmed ALT 4 is banked in final form, or flagged it for follow-up, and checked that key files are labelled and findable
