Imagine a new classmate has just arrived at your school in Valencia. With the person beside you, prepare one short English sentence introducing them. A few pairs will then stand and introduce their partner to the class.

That felt natural in English. Today you will learn to introduce yourself in Spanish, ask someone their name and where they are from, and notice a more formal way to ask a name.

We will work in two short waves. Wave 1 is about you and a friend. Wave 2 is where you are from, plus a more formal way to ask someone's name.

Notice which phrases you use about yourself, which ones ask a friend, and which one you might use with a teacher.

Watch the board. When a card is flipped, everyone whispers the Spanish. The volunteer only taps the cards. Find each Spanish phrase with its English meaning.
