Today you will

• finish one real coursework document that someone outside this class needs
• write a skills explanation that names the features you used and why
• save both files, and a PDF of each, in {{code:04_evidence}}

This is your Key Assignment 1.

Warm-up: which path are you on?

• Path A: you already have a real document, like your Work Experience report.
• Path B: you don't have one yet. Tell your teacher now.

A KA1 coursework document is a finished document that a real reader needs, like your Work Experience report.

A skills explanation names at least five features you used. It says why each one helps the reader.

Weak or strong?

• Weak: "I used bold because it looks nice."
• Strong: "Heading 1 on each section so my VPG teacher can scan the placement report in under a minute."

Name the reader first, like your teacher or your supervisor. Then the reason usually follows.

First you will copy your coursework file and give it a quick check. Then you will set up your skills explanation with headings and an empty table. Follow the steps in the box below.

Common issues

• If a Why cell only says what you clicked, add who reads the document and how the feature helps them.
• If you can't find five features, look back at your Module 1 work, like styles, tables, headers and page numbers. Three honest rows are better than five made-up ones.
• If a file is in Downloads or the wrong folder, move it into {{code:04_evidence}}.
