Before you start

Key words

Pair rehearsal means you present format 1 live to one partner, who listens and then gives you feedback.

Two-piece feedback means exactly one strength and one improvement, and no more.

Specific means you name the exact slide, line or moment you mean.

Always give the strength first, then the improvement.

Example

• Strength: "Your opening question about weekend phone repairs made me want to listen."
• Improvement: "Slow down on the pricing slide, because I missed the €25 figure."

Sentence starters

If something goes wrong

• My file won't open. Use your partner's device, or present from your outline: hook, two points and close.
• The feedback is vague. Ask your partner, "Which slide or which moment do you mean?"
• We ran out of time. The partner who hasn't gone yet gives a short 60 to 90 second opening.

Your goal

Present format 1 to your partner, then swap, and each give two pieces of feedback.

1. Sit with your partner from the board. Close chat and other tabs.
2. Partner A presents for 2 minutes: hook, two key points and close. Keep going even if you feel nervous.
3. Partner B listens without interrupting and jots down one strength and one improvement.
4. Partner B says the strength first, then the improvement. Partner A may ask one question, like "Which slide did you mean?"
5. Swap roles and do it all again. Keep your notes for the next task.

For a video or podcast, play up to 2 minutes and add your spoken intro.

Success criteria

• I presented for no more than 2 minutes.
• I gave one strength and one improvement.
• I wrote down the two pieces I got.
