Look at the hooped stripes on this GAA jersey. What do you notice about the colours?
If the jersey kept going, what colour would the next hoop be? How do you know?
Just like the hoops on the jersey, shapes can take turns in a pattern. Three patterns on the board. For each one, say the shapes out loud in order. Then tell me what has to come next.
Listen hard to this last one. It has more shapes before it starts again.
First, a quick body pattern: clap, stamp, clap, stamp. What comes next?
Now the board. There is a pattern started for us. Come up, say it out loud, then put the next three shapes.
In your maths copy, draw six hoops like a GAA jersey stripe: two colours taking turns.
Class challenge. Say the pattern out loud. Then place what comes next and tap Check.
