A voiceover is your own voice, recorded and attached to a slide.
Warm-up
Think of a video where the sound helped you, and one where it got in the way. What was the difference?
A voiceover is a short recording of your voice on a slide.
Audio levels are how loud each sound is, and your voice should be the loudest.
Royalty-free music is music you are allowed to use. Copyright protects chart songs, so leave them out. Always know where your music came from.
A 20-second script: "This slide shows my three graduation photo packages. The mid package at €45 covers a 30-minute shoot and ten edited shots. Most families book that one."
You will record a short voiceover for one slide. Watch your teacher first, then follow the steps in the box below.
There are two parts. When Part A is done, stop and wait for your teacher to start Part B.
If you are making a video or a podcast, record the same way. Then add the file in CapCut or your audio editor.
Common issues
- Insert Audio is greyed out. Upload the file first, then use the path on the board.
- My phone recording isn't on the PC. Email it to yourself and save it to Downloads.
- My recording is too quiet. Record again closer to the mic.
- I want a chart song. That isn't allowed, so use approved royalty-free music or none.
Independent Practice
- Open your presentation or {{code:sm2_audio_practice}} in {{code:sm2/}}.
- Decide if a voiceover really helps, or if silence is better.
- If it helps, add a voiceover set to {{btn:On Click}}. For a video or podcast, use CapCut or your audio editor.
- If silence is better, copy these three lines into your speaker notes and finish each one.

If you have time, add quiet music under your voice. Use only a royalty-free track your teacher approves.
