- pick one real project to work on all year, which we call your Something Real project
- make the folders your work will go in
- write a short plan with three goals
Warm-up
If you did Introduction to ICT, you can keep the project you started there. If you're new, pick one of these to start with:
- a CV for a part-time job
- a Work Experience report
- a community project
You'll work on the same project all year, across four modules, and everything you make goes into your portfolio.

Watch your teacher do this first, then follow the steps for your app and tick each one as you go.

- Make a price list for five products.
- Type and fix a newsletter about my placement.
- Use a table to show item, price and notes.

If you get stuck
- If you can't find {{code:Project_Portfolio}}, type its name into the search box at the top.
- If a file ends up in the wrong place, move it into {{code:sm1}}.
- If a folder has the wrong name, right-click it and choose Rename.
Independent Practice
- In {{code:sm1}}, make a new document called {{code:sm1_specialism_plan}}.
- Type the same four headings you used in your sample.
- Under the first two headings, write your project's name and how far along it is.
- Under Module 1 goals, write three goals. These starters will help:
"Make a ___ for ___" · "Type and fix a ___ about ___" · "Use a table to ___"
If you don't have a project yet, ask your teacher to help you pick one.

- {{code:sm1_specialism_plan}} is saved in {{code:sm1}}.
- My plan is about my own project, not the Centra example.
- Each of my three goals names a document I will make.
