Your VET interview is where you show your work to an examiner. VET stands for Vocational Education Task.

Today you will

• see how Module 2 leads into that interview
• read a sample brief and link it to your Something Real project
• write a four-part plan for your presentation

Warm-up

Think of someone who explained something well. What did they do first to keep you listening?

Purpose is what your presentation is for, such as to inform, persuade or report.

Audience is who will see it. At the VET interview, that's the examiner.

Format is what you make, like a slide deck or an infographic. Format 1 is for the live interview. Format 2 is for another audience later.

Read the sample brief

Talk it through

1. Pick which type your project is: enterprise pitch, club or team system, creator plan, CV or skills pack, Practical Achievement, or other.
2. What does the examiner need to see, apart from nice slides?
3. Which piece of your project could be the spine, the one real piece of work your talk is built around?
4. Who is in the room, and how should that change your words and design?

Common snags

• I've forgotten my project. Open {{code:sm1/}} and reuse your Module 1 project.
• I can't find {{code:sm2}}. Go to {{code:Project_Portfolio}}, then {{code:09_specialism}}, and make the {{code:sm2}} folder.
• I can't pick a format. Choose a short slide deck for the interview for now.
