I have hidden treasure on the hundred square. It is on the number at the very end of the twenties row. Where should we dig?
The hundred square lines numbers up in rows of ten. The tens digit tells you the row: 24 has 2 tens, so it lives in the twenties row.
Then count along that row for the ones — that is how far along. Four numbers are shaded. Name the row, then how far along. Watch the one at the very end of its row.
I will call a number. You shade it on the hundred square. First say the row out loud, then how far along.
In your maths copy, write the forties row from 41 to 50, one number after the other. Check that 50 sits at the very end of your line.
Shade these numbers together: 16 → 42 → 75 → 98. Before each one, say the row out loud, then how far along.
