1 - How Do You Get to School? ~5 mins
How long does it take you to get to school, and how do you travel? Tell a partner in English in one short sentence.
In Spain you will see la motocicleta weaving past el autobús and people hopping into el taxi with a coffee. Today those words go in your mouth, and you will say how you get to school and how long it takes using: Voy al colegio en … y tardo … minutos.

- Sort transport words into el and la
2 - Eight Ways to Travel ~10 mins
Here are today's eight forms of transport. We will learn four, then four more. Tap each one, listen, then say it back together with el or la.
Two board models (side by side):
- Dictionary form (with the article): el autobús, la bicicleta
- Journey form (after en, bare noun): Voy al colegio en autobús y tardo quince minutos. (I go to school by bus and I take fifteen minutes.)
After en we do not repeat el or la: say en autobús, en bicicleta.
3 - Label a Street Near Atocha ~10 mins
Morning rush near Atocha station in Madrid: buses, taxis, bikes, motos. Look at each picture, click the correct Spanish label, then the whole class says the word with el or la together.
4 - Into Your Copy ~3 mins
Open your copy and write one sentence saying how you get to school and how long it takes.
Use the pattern: Voy al colegio en … y tardo … minutos.
Time bank on the board: cinco / diez / quince / veinte minutos.
5 - El or La? ~10 mins
Drag each transport word into the correct gender column: masculine el or feminine la. Trust what you heard with the article earlier.
