Warm-up

Open {{code:sm1}}, then {{code:03_finished}}. On scrap paper, write the name of one Unit 1 document you can see. If you can't find one, write {{code:can't find my Unit 1 doc}}.

A filing framework means every file has its own home in folders that stay the same.

Styles are Heading 1, Heading 2 and Normal. You pick them from the gallery instead of changing the font by hand.

A save format is the type of file. You work in an editable file, and you make a PDF when it is finished.

Example

Your {{code:sm1}} folder holds {{code:01_drafts}}, {{code:02_templates}}, {{code:03_finished}}, {{code:04_evidence}} and {{code:05_archive}}. On your Something Real one-pager, the main title uses Heading 1.

You will check your Unit 1 folders and document, then write one sentence about a problem you want help with. Follow the steps in the box below. If your document is missing, the steps show you how to make a quick one.

Your teacher will put up to three problems on the board. Listen for fixes that help you too.

Common snags

• If you can't find your file, search {{code:Project_Portfolio}} for {{code:sm1_doc1}} and move it into {{code:03_finished}}.
• If your headings still show as Normal, select each one and pick Heading 1 or Heading 2.
• If a file saved in the wrong place, move it into {{code:sm1}}. Next time, open the folder first.
