1 - Getting Started ~4 mins

2 - Watch and Notice ~7 mins

3 - Try It Together ~10 mins

Today we work these out together on the board:

one full turn of the minute hand, which is one hour
a half hour, then a quarter hour, how many minutes is each?
how many minutes are in two hours

5 - Class Challenge ~8 mins

Today we work through these renaming problems together on the board, using your units-of-time reference strip:

How many minutes are in 4 hours?
How many hours are in 3 days?
How many days are in 6 weeks?
Stretch: how many seconds are in 5 minutes?
