Today you will

• pick two principles for your VET presentation

Universal Design means making your presentation work for as many people as possible, right from the start.

Warm-up

Think of a slide show you watched from the back of a room. Was it easy or hard to follow, and why?

The four you will write about

• Equitable use means everyone gets the full message, like alt text on photos.
• Simple and intuitive use means it is easy to follow, like one idea per slide.
• Perceptible information means the message reaches more than one sense, like captions.
• Size and space for approach and use means text is big enough to read across a table.

The other three

You will also sort Flexibility in use, Tolerance for error and Low physical effort.

As a class, you will match each presentation choice to the principle it shows best. Talk through every card together first. Then place the cards on the board and check them.

Common issues

• You might mix up equitable use and perceptible information. Equitable use means everyone gets the same message, and perceptible information means it reaches more than one sense.
• Every principle might seem to fit. Pick the two that would help your examiner most.
• Don't just write "make it accessible". Name a real action, like font size, captions or alt text.
