Warm-up

Think of one number you care about outside school, like streams, match points or money from a side hustle. Could a spreadsheet help you track it?

Keep one project question in mind, such as a cost or a time question. You will use it later.

A spreadsheet helps you answer a question with numbers. Real people use them in four main ways.

• Creator analytics tracks views, saves or streams over time.
• Money and budgets work out sales, costs and ticket prices.
• Sport stats log scores and points across a season.
• Survey data puts each answer in its own row.

Example: Sam's two picks

Sam sells custom stickers. Sam picked a money model for profit on 40 packs at €8, and an inventory log so stock never runs out.

As a class, you will sort real spreadsheet jobs into groups. For each card, say where it goes and why. It's fine to disagree.
