Look! This cup wobbles when I rock it. What do you think helps something stay up when it wobbles?
Some things have wide feet: a big, spread-out bottom. Some things have thin feet: a small bottom.
Soon you will build two towers of cups or blocks, one with wide feet and one with thin feet, and stand them on a tray. Which one do you think will stay up when the tray is wobbled?
1. Build a tower with wide feet (three pieces spread out at the bottom).
2. Build a tower with thin feet (one piece at the bottom).
3. Make the tops the same height.
Give your tray a gentle nudge.
